Looking for the perfect dessert to bring to the picnic this weekend! Here are a few recipes that looked oh so yummy!!!
I recently finished Jodi Picoult's 14th novel, Nineteen Minutes for my book club. It was the first book I read by Jodi. This book begins with a high school shooting and then goes back in time to describe the lives of the kids involved. It was shocking at times and sad all around. But it really opened my eyes to see the heart of the shooter, described by his mom to be a sweet sensative kid, who had been bullied every day since kindergarden. I felt so bad for this kid and also his mother who wondered what she did wrong. Although this book touches a grim topic i give it two thumbs up and will probably read it again!
Rhubarb signals summer in my neck of the woods. It is that consistent plant that always comes up year after year! And there is always plenty enough to share with friends and neighbors. We recently got a big bag from my dad's garden and i set to making my Grandma's Rhubarb sauce. It is so easy and yummy. We have had it as an evening snack by itself and served over ice cream! And a few more!
Grandma's Rhubarb Sauce
4 c rhubarb cut in chunks
2 c strawberries
1 c sugar
Add fruit to pan and cover with water then add sugar. Boil until sauce consistency. Cool and serve!
