I haven't posted anything about this quilt i started about a year ago. Mostly because I still have to bind it and also the pictures I took were not that great. But thought i would throw it up here anyways. I would say this is my FIRST real quilt. I have made a few tops and one rag quilt before. I made it for my daughters big girl bed and I am pretty happy with how it turned out!
Started with Quilt Dad's tutorial for Wonky Log Cabin Squares.
"look what mom's making me"
I had it long arm quilted at a local shop. I can't wait to wash it so it scrunches up a little!
So now off to research all the great quilt binding tutorials out there.

Love it! Great job! Your daughter is too cute :) I like Rita's tutorial for binding on Red Pepper Quilts.

This turned out lovely, I love your wonky blocks! I started quilting recently (using lots of your fabrics) and loving it! I used Elizabeth's binding tutorial on www.ohfransson.com, worked perfectly. My quilts are up on my blog www.fairyfacedesigns.blogspot.com

It's beautiful! I love the fabrics you chose for it. What a lovely quilt for her big girl bed. I can't believe how big she is already. What a doll!

Beautiful quilt! I love the bright white sashing, it really makes your brightly colored blocks "pop" even more! So pretty!

Very nice! The white does set the colored blocks off beautifully. Is it machine quilted?

Uhm first I have to say how ADORABLE your new pic is of you ... love the piggies and your glasses are too fun!!
Second good for you making a quilt (and wonky blocks no less?!?!)... and just so you know, my son's quilt was the second quilt I ever made and I had the grand idea to make it for his full size bed ... it took me a year too!!
I spent yesterday working on my latest one (which I started over 6 months ago) and I *think* I'll have a quilt top by the end of the weekend. Whoo-hoo!!
I also have fabric for at least 2 more already bought ... but you know they probably won't be done for like 3 years and I'll hate the fabric by then, LOL!!
Speaking from experience, you will smile every time you make your daughters bed. You just can't help but be proud of yourself ;).
Happy Weekend!
