Christmas Cards...DONE!

Yea!!  I finished up the Christmas cards.  I choose a simple design with minimal stamping.  After a 3 day assembly  line process, the winning photo went on the inside.  Now I just have to get them all addressed and stamped.  No simple task!

 

Christmas Traditions

Since this is baby's first year I have been wanting to document all the new and old traditions of our family.  I think I will make a small scrapbook of the things we do year after year for Christmas.  I think it would be a fun thing to page through with our children in anticipation of the holiday season!  Here are a couple of ours and I will be posting more as the month rolls along!  Do you have any fun or unique Christmas traditions?

I painted this little cardboard house and wrote the baby's name and date on the back I used modge podge and then snow glitter to sparkle it up. I chose this because this year we brought the baby home!

Fabric Ornament Tutorial

I swear I saw this made somewhere online!  But I have searched high and low and can't seem to find a tutorial anywhere.  So here is my version of how I made this cute little fabric ornament.  It's a great way to use up all those fabric scraps.  If you use the type of foam ball I used it will give you a more sewn look as the foam will collapse a little on the seams. If you use a white styrofoam ball it will be a little more flat.

Getting ready for a craft show...

I have been working hard to get a few things together for a Christmas Craft fair here in my town.  We did one last year and had great success.  I am selling burp cloths, key fobs, crocheted hats, fabric baby booties and fat quarters from the shoppe!  Luke (my husband) comes with and helps so that makes it fun!  I hope everything sells!  Here are a few photos of what is currently taking over my living room!

Homemade sugar scrub...

I made this the other night after an impromptu visit to Whole Foods.  I used to buy a sugar scrub at Origins and once at Bath & Body Works but it is so expensive.  Who knew how cheap and easy it could be to exfoliate!  It works really well.  This is so easy and it makes a great gift too!  You can choose whatever fragrance you would like.  I chose grapefruit! Here is the recipe:

1/2 cup oil (olive, grapeseed, almond, non fragrance baby oil)

1 c white sugar

10 drops of essential oils (from the coop)

I finally found some time to do a little sewing and made a few new burpies for my other etsy site. Which I have been neglecting as of late.  But now have some fresh items for sale!   Here are a few pics, I am liking the new combos!  I obviously can't get enough of the new Park Slope fabrics.  I can't wait to use the Pop Garden prints!

Crib whimsy

While looking for a few things to put in the baby's room, I fell in love with these little handmade felt patches.  They are so detailed!   I found them here on etsy, all the way from the UK.  Although i think i might have snatched up the last few!

I used some fabric from the shoppe and covered a few artists canvases.  Then ironed on these whimsical patches.  They go perfectly above the crib!  I also covered a wreath frame with feathers, and put that above the dresser!  Nothing in the frame yet but i am sure to have a million pictures soon!

Craft night

I got these cute cards at the dollar spot at Target. Such a great deal. They were a little plain but I love craft colored paper, and the dots and stripes were cute too. I decided to throw on some ribbon and stamp it up a little, and turned them into these thank you cards. I figure i can't have to many of these around especially with the baby on the way.
